Presby’s 3rd annual Day of Inspiration engages communities, makes difference throughout Philadelphia
Presby team members, residents and civic leaders collaborated to give back to local neighborhoods.
Presby’s third annual Day of Inspiration and its volunteer efforts made a difference all throughout the Philadelphia area on Friday.
Residents, team members and volunteers donated their time and skills to events and activities held throughout various Presby communities.
Created by Presby team members to enhance the older adult communities they serve, the Day of Inspiration giving event encapsulates volunteer efforts that engage all in a day of service to address the critical needs of the surrounding community.
This year, events were held at 12 Presby communities. Highlights from this year included:
•Nearly 200 breakfast bags that were assembled by residents, team members, Philadelphia City Councilman Curtis Jones and representatives from Philadelphia City Councilman Derek Green’s office that will be donated to Project HOME’s Hub of Hope shelter in Center City’s Suburban Station. — Wynnefield Place
•Over 200 pairs of collected flip-flops that will be donated to the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. — Grace Court
• Food and grocery donation by residents on behalf of the Interfaith Food Cupboard in nearby Roslyn, Pennsylvania. — Rydal Park
•A series of resident safety presentations conducted by the Philadelphia Police’s 9th District. — Riverside
•Meal preparation and blessing bag donation drive alongside Marple Presbyterian Church. — Broomall
•Painting and other neighborhood beautification projects alongside The Common Place that assisted in keeping safe havens up to date for neighborhood youth. — 58th Street Campus
•Food donations that will be delivered via ElderNet Food Pantry to low-income residents in the surrounding area. — Rosemont
•Soup preparation and packaging for distribution alongside the Ralston Center. The soup will be distributed to those in need throughout West Philadelphia. — Mantua.
•A healthy eating and cooking expo with a chef and nutritionist from FLIK Lifestyles. — Reed Street
Presby Inspired Life and its communities are proud neighbors in the areas they call home. The Day of Inspiration is just one of many examples of Presby’s philanthropic spirit.
